Submission Guidelines

The purpose of the DrugsNot4Me Web site is to provide Canadian youth with information on the harms related to illicit drugs. The Web site focuses on the prevention of illicit drug use.

 

User-Submitted Content

Suitability of user-submitted content

Some sections of the DrugsNot4Me Web site invite users to submit content to be considered for posting to the site. Health Canada will evaluate submissions and select content that Health Canada, in its own discretion, determines contributes to the purpose of the DrugsNot4Me Web site for posting. Health Canada reserves the right to refuse to post any submissions to the DrugsNot4Me Web site that Health Canada considers will not contribute to the purpose of the DrugsNot4Me Web site for any reason whatsoever.

Content submitted for publication on the Web site as determined by Health Canada in addition to having the right message and tone should:

NOT be obscene, vulgar, or indecent

NOT contain any nudity, profanity, acts or threats of violence, defamatory, disparaging or slanderous statements about any company, entity or person

NOT contain any personally identifiable information about you or any other person (this includes not using their image without their permission)

NOT contain any names, products or services of any company or entity, or any copyrights, trademarks, logos, slogans, mascots, artwork, or promotion of any brand, product or service.

User-submitted content that is posted to the DrugsNot4Me Web site will be clearly identified as such and does not necessarily represent the views of the Health Canada or the Government of Canada.

Retention and disclosure of user submissions

In accordance with the Privacy Act of Canada any identifiable information collected for the purpose of this Web site will only be used for the purposes for which it was collected. In providing such information, participants or their parent/guardian do consent to the use of such information as set out on the Web site.

Copyright / ownership of user-submitted content

Any person submitting content to the DrugsNot4Me Web site must certify that he or she is the author.

By submitting content to the DrugsNot4Me Web site users automatically grant (or warrant that the owner of the content expressly grants) the Government of Canada a world-wide, perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, transmit, communicate, and/or publicly display the content on the DrugsNot4Me Web site. In addition, you warrant that all "moral rights" in such materials have been waived. Users also agree that Health Canada may edit the content as it deems appropriate.
